Gretje's Tea/Tee Party!!!

For Gretje's fourth birthday, she had her aunt and cousins over for tea, birthday cake, and tee shirt decorating!

We found some herbal tea made for kids, with a nice strawberry flavor. Not that they could probably tell the difference, after adding tons of Truvia and coconut creamer!

While Gretje and Maddie ran around like mad children between the time we served tea and the time we served birthday cake, Mirren, Matt, Alessandra and I got to take a break and do a little quality chatting about animals, writing, and more.

It's a shame we didn't get a picture of it, but adorable Maddie was so enthusiastic about "helping" Gretje blow out her candles, that she ended up blowing them out for her!  We re-lit them so G could give it another try.

Pop star Lady Gaga graced the cover of a Vogue magazine that sat in our bathroom for months. Gretje often asks "Who is that?" if somebody on a magazine cover looks even vaguely interesting, so you can imagine how she instantly memorized this particular image and name. So when it came time to wrap her present, we just couldn't resist using the picture, mostly so we could hear Gretje identify her: "Hey! It's Lady Gaga!"

Among other delightful things, Aunt Ally and Mirren & Maddie gave Gretch a ton of awesome scratch and sniff stickers. As per her usual MO, she coated me in them.

All in all, it was a ton of fun, which didn't end until Bryan called Alessandra, wondering just how long past bedtime the girls were going to stay out! Time flies when you're having fun.

Random shots from May visit to Tiffin!

It looks like the camera only came out here and there during our May visit to Nana and Papa's, but there were still some fun pictures taken (mostly by Matt)!

Is it me, or does Matt suddenly seem extremely inspired to pick up the camera when my legs are in view...?

Gretch had a really awesome time with the magnifying glass her wonderful grandparents got for her.

I think in this picture I'm explaining to Gretje what an exoskeleton is.
