Star Wars pizza party. We were about to press play when Matt got a call revealing that dear Grandpa Speck had passed away. It was a very tearful time, but Gretje sweetly pulled her daddy close and kissed his face and said it was okay to cry, and we talked about how funny and wonderful Grandpa Speck was. She said, "We'll be happy when we see him in our next life, it's just sad that we'll miss him until then." So after a while we dried our tears and watched the movie, and G ate an entire sprouted wheat tortilla pizza. I love this family so much.

For a while, #gbear has been asking if we could make some "kid makeup." I decided the answer was to make some diy natural blush and lip gloss but with way less pigment. The blush is cornstarch mixed with ground rooibos tea in a spice grinder. The lip glosses are coconut oil and shea butter mixed on med heat with a tiny fleck of lipstick. Poured into the emptied trays in a gift-with-purchase compact and set for 10 minutes in the fridge. Neither have enough color to make her look "done up," but she can play dress up putting them on. She was so over the moon about doing all of this that she kept randomly hollering "Oh, thank you for doing this with me!" while we made it, so I'd call it a success.
