Matt's Father's Day Cake!

Matt loves many things. Butterscotch, crazy colored frosting, trumpets, and....dinosaurs? Well whatever, Gretch and I made him this blue butterscotch cake for Father's Day, with many things he loves (and then some!).

Lately, Gretch is obsessed with picking up our legs and trying to carry them around. It's very Groucho Marx.

We went over to my folks' house to help my dad with his garage sale, and in going through the piles of old stuff, I happened to find my awesome wooden blocks from when I was little. I couldn't believe how much better made they were than the ones we see at the store these days! So we hauled them up from the basement, washed them in the front yard, and by later that night, Gretch was having lots of fun building with them.

We went over to my parents' house to pick up our summer clothes (in storage in their basement) and do a little visiting. But as soon as mom had to water her garden, G caught wind of how fun it is to get continually doused by the garden hose, and within a few minutes we were all soaked!

After dinner shenanigans.

Pictured here: GBear instructing her daddy to be a monster, but to also stay absolutely still. So still, in fact, that he picked up the wine he was having with dinner, and finished it while making growling monster noises. Everyone was pleased.

Pictured here: a little dance party to get our extra energy out. I must admit, I so enjoyed it that I kept right on dancing after Matt took G off for a bath. Which caused a bit of a chuckle when he walked back in and found me dancing around the living room all by myself.
